There are a lot of chaotic personalities in the Beastie-verse ā creatures who sparkle, slip, or somehow always set off small explosions. Henry is absolutely one of them⦠just in a quieter, squishier way. He's soft. He's sweet. And he always smells faintly of wildflower honey and warm laundry.
Henry the Honey Bear is one of the original Bekkalek Beasties ā a cornerstone character who showed up quietly one day, paws sticky, bees in tow, and immediately made himself at home.
š Sweet by Nature, Sticky by Accident
Henry doesnāt go looking for messes⦠they just find him. He means well ā truly! ā but if thereās a honey pot nearby, he will absolutely fall into it face-first. Bees love him, even when he knocks over their favorite flowers. They seem to understand that Henryās not a bother ā heās a soft little blip of chaos wrapped in a hoodie and good intentions.
He never raises his voice. He never rushes. He just is, in the most comforting way.
Some afternoons, you might find him lying flat on his back in a patch of clover, bees orbiting above like a slow, humming halo. Once, he got stuck in a berry bush trying to rescue a baby bird ā and when help arrived, the bird had already climbed onto his belly and fallen asleep.
Another time, he tried to fix a squeaky gate with a jar of peanut butter. It worked (sort of), but now the squirrels wonāt leave. He once knit an entire scarf for a tree that looked cold. His logic was fuzzy, but so is he.
Henry is the type who remembers how you like your tea, puts too much effort into handmade greeting cards, and says "oops" with such sincerity that it feels like an apology and a hug.
š« The Tea Shop Dream
Henry has a vision ā a cozy corner tea shop where the honey is never too far from the spoon. The mugs donāt match, the napkins are always slightly crumpled, and everyone is welcome to stay as long as they like. Thereās a seat just for you, and a little bell that jingles when you open the door, and probably some kind of bee-led loyalty program (heās still working out the details).
For now, itās just an idea ā something he and Patrick the Purkle Beastie talk about over evening tea. Patrick grows hibiscus in his garden, and Henry brews it gently while the two of them swap cozy daydreams and muffin ideas. On especially good days, they bring out their ātea shop notebookā and scribble plans in the margins ā everything from teacup styles to which Beasties would run the register (Paul volunteered, but⦠itās under review).
š§ø What Makes Henry Special
Heās not flashy. Heās not loud. Heās just good. Henry shows up with a warm snack and sits beside you while you sort through your thoughts. He listens with his whole body. He hugs like a blanket fresh from the dryer. And when you're around him, it suddenly feels like maybe things aren't so bad after all.
He gives the best compliments at exactly the right moment ā never forced, always genuine. If you dropped your muffin on the floor, Henry would give you half of his and say yours looked better anyway. He remembers birthdays without a calendar. He presses fallen leaves into books and doodles bees in the margins. He never forgets your favorite scent.
Henryās heart is the kind you donāt come across often. He notices the little things ā when someoneās gone quiet, when the room feels heavy, when a hug would help more than a hundred words. He never asks for attention but somehow ends up at the center of everyoneās favorite memories. He has a way of making you feel seen, even if you donāt say a word.
And the best part? Henry has absolutely no idea why so many Beasties want to be around him. He just does what feels kind and hopes it helps. Heās always surprised when someone thanks him for being there ā like it wasnāt the most natural thing in the world. But thatās Henry: quietly magical, deeply caring, and completely unaware of how much everyone adores him.
Heās the Beastie who brings calm to the chaos. The one you didnāt know you needed ā until he was already there.
šŖ Henryās Favorite Recipe: Honey Lavender Muffins
Soft, floral, and just the right amount of sweet ā these muffins are inspired by Henryās love of tea and comfort. Theyāre naturally gluten- and dairy-free, with options for simple swaps depending on what you have on hand. Henry believes snacks should be as welcoming as he is ā so no one gets left out.
A printable recipe card is coming soon! Or bring your favorite tea blend, and Henry will keep the kettle warm.
š Want to take Henry home?
Soon you will be able to find Henry as a vinyl sticker, on a mug design, and more in the Bekkalek shop. Stick him on your laptop. Sip tea with him. Or just carry him around for comfort ā thatās what heād want.
More Beastie stories are coming soon. Until then, go easy. Henry would.
